Bob Williams and David Burnett met for the first time at the dedication of the D-Day Museum June 6,2000 in New Orleans.

|
If this sounds strange it is because David took the D-Day+50 picture from a distance and Bob knew nothing about it untill it appeared center fold in TIME Magazine the first time June 24th 1994.

David Burnett, spent two years in Saigon, Vietnam as free lance
photographer for Time Magazine, 1970-1972 shooting the horrors of that war. Fortunately, he showed up in Normandy June of 1994 to capture Bob Williams field of dreams on film , a picture that appeared double fold in four issues of Time magazine. Aboue picture shows David and Bob during the big parade in New Orleans 2000.
